Lourdes Rodero de Lamo

I started in this world studying the diploma course and the degree of statistics at UPC and I got hooked. I wanted to have a solid mathematical basis but keeping always my feet on the ground (data). That's why I like working in the field of applied statistics.

I specially dedicate myself to applied statistics for monitoring and improving the quality and experimental design. My doctoral thesis was about design of experiments in the field of Bayesian statistics, studying ways to define the sample size and to identify distributions a priori non-informative. I collaborate in Six Sigma courses taught by the department and also in projects with companies.

In regards to the academic side, it really motivates me the teaching innovation and the implementation of active and cooperative learning methods in the subjects that I teach. I am a professor in the industrial engineering field but also in the degree and master of statistics, where my training started.
